Carne in Kloof Street review...
Giorgio Nava, is a well-known chef at Cape Town ’s award winning 95 Keerom. He has just opened up his second signature restaurant Carne, situated in Kloof street specialising in meat dishes. I personally had to try out his new restaurant as it was just next door from where I stay.
There is an extensive menu featuring the very best meat Southern Africa has to offer. It aspires to indulge the meat lover with an extensive choice of beef of high calibre that can be traced back to its farm. The meat is well aged and can be grain fed or grass fed. I specially ordered the beef spider steak that was beautifully prepared by the famous chef Giorgio, with a side dish of spinach and salad that accompanied the meal, for dolce, which means sweet in Italian, I had a tiramisu for desert ,an indulgence as a finish touch.
The décor in Carne has a distressed brick wall with decorative wooden pods. The atmosphere is warm and friendly with dim lights that makes night dining more romantic with soft lounge music playing in the back ground. Overall the restaurant has much to offer for meat lover.
